InGround vs Regular Trampolines: Which Should You Choose?
BERG trampolines can be installed three ways. The trampoline itself is much the same in each case. What changes is the groundwork, the look and how exposed it is to wind.
Above ground (Regular)
The classic set-up. The trampoline stands on legs, needs no digging and can be moved or taken with you if you move house. It must be anchored, and most people add a ladder.
InGround
The frame sits in a pit with the mat 10 to 20cm above the lawn, leaving a visible rim. It is less exposed to wind, needs no ladder and is lower to step onto, which helps younger children.
FlatGround
The trampoline sits completely flush with the grass. It needs the deepest groundwork, across the full width of the frame, and a level, well-drained site. It is the neatest look of the three.
How the prices compare
On the Favorit, InGround costs a little more: the 11ft with a Comfort safety net is €659 above ground and €739 InGround. On the Champion and Elite, the above-ground and InGround prices are the same: an 11ft Champion with a Deluxe net is €1,119 either way.
InGround and FlatGround trampolines can also be bought without a safety net, sold as SPORTS models. An 11ft Champion FlatGround without a net is €999. The digging is a separate cost.
Which should you choose?
Choose above ground if you want the quickest set-up, may move it later or would rather not dig. Choose InGround if the trampoline is staying put, your garden is exposed to wind or you want a lower step for young children. Choose FlatGround if the look matters most and your site is level and drains well.
We don't install trampolines ourselves, but we work with independent installers and can put you in touch with one. Call 01 960 1641 to talk it through. Orders over €300 are delivered free.
