Complete Guide to BERG Go-Karts in Ireland

BERG is a Dutch maker of pedal go-karts. We keep five models in stock in our Irish warehouse, covering ages 3 to adult. This guide explains which one fits which child.

Buddy: ages 3 to 8

The Buddy is the first proper pedal go-kart, for children from 90cm to 130cm tall. The Buddy B.Orange is €299. The Buddy Lua is €319 and is the same kart in a pink and green colour scheme.

Rally: ages 4 to 12

The Rally is a larger frame for children from 105cm to 150cm tall. The Rally NRG Orange is €459 and the Rally DRT Green is €499.

BFR XL Pure: ages 5 to adult

The BFR XL Pure is a full-size kart for riders 120cm and taller, so older children, teenagers and adults can all use it. It is €595.

How the BFR system works

All five karts use BERG's BFR hub. Pedal forwards to go. Pedal backwards to brake. Once the kart has stopped, pedal backwards again to reverse. There is no separate brake lever to learn.

Each kart has a powder-coated steel frame, pneumatic tyres and an adjustable seat, so it grows with the rider. All five carry a 2-year warranty.

Choosing by height, not just age

Age ranges overlap, so go by height. A tall five-year-old may be better on a Rally than a Buddy, and a child close to the top of a range will get more years from the next size up.
